I love this idea.
it hits on two of my favorite things:
- technical standards
- Hacking stuff for non standard use cases
The ideas of a standard units for furniture just hits a part of my brain that says fuck yes!
Looking on ebay
150 usd for a server rack. Not bad
Related ideas are gridfinity (tool storage system)
Thought: a "metric" system but for the whole home
Where everything is derived off of some basic scaling units
ex:
- 6u chair
- 4x2u drawer
- 4u tv
